Unexpectedly had a free day open up on my itinerary. Where should I go on a day trip from Stratford? There are a million trains here, but also a Sixt, so considering hiring/renting a car to go somewhere a little more off the beaten path.

Anyone else here had the privilege of flying on one of the new 787-9P's? Honestly pretty game-changing stuff... I was in disbelief that I was actually flying a Western airline; luckily, AA's signature apathetic cabin service kept me grounded a bit there.
So comfortable, and the little details make even Premium Economy plenty comfortable for a transatlantic hop. The WiFi was solid as a rock even over the remotest regions of the North Atlantic, and truly worked gate-to-gate (which is more important on the 787 than any other aircraft, considering the 787 is a highly effective Faraday cage)
The only real drawbacks: they could stand to add in 1-2 more lavatories, and maybe apply a little WD-40 (or FAA-approved alternative) to the seats; one person in your cabin with ants in their pants, and it's going to be pretty frustrating. And again, AA could stand to improve their onboard service with staff who at least pretend not to absolutely hate their jobs.
But on the whole, if this is the future of Transatlantic travel, I am 100% here for it. This is certainly one of the biggest upgrades to that experience in the years I've been flying for business. When you're rebuilding a shoddy reputation like American is needing to do, doing what everyone else is doing simply isn't good enough. You have to come up with something so good, nobody can argue with it. It seems they have delivered here, and I can't wait to see more of these enter service so they can start rebuilding their long-haul network.
