Hii - my one cat has recently become even more glued to me than usual - constantly sitting on me like i'm his home base. it's started to rly stress me out, make me feel kinda trapped.. like i just don't have bodily autonomy.. i know some people would love to have a lap cat but i haven't been in the best mental state (burnt out by my job which has me glued to my computer and chronic health stuff) ..and its just become a bit overwhelming. I work from home and as soon as i sit down to work on the couch he's just perched on me.
it's weird like the past few days i've just gone to work in bed and he hasn't followed me in there. its strange, it's like just when i'm on the couch. we recently found out he has hyperthyroidism and he also has kidney disease but seems okay. we've got him on a medicine for the former and a special diet for the latter. he'll like hiss at me sometimes if i push him off or try to get up or he'll lash out at his brother. he's just a very keyed up cat but it feels like its gotten worse recently. is there anything i can do? i love him but the constant sitting on me is just getting to me/feels like its exacerbating the aforementioned stuff i'm dealing with. why might he being doing this? i feel bad like i want him to be happy of course. he doesn't seem as interested in play anymore. he's about 10. idk, thanks.
