Hi everyone,

In about six weeks, I’ll be doing a 70.3 triathlon. The good news is that most disciplines are going really well. On the bike, I can comfortably average around 35 km/h over 90 km at a steady heart rate. Running also feels solid — I can complete a half marathon at around a 4:30 min/km pace without too much trouble.

However, swimming is a completely different story. Right now, I can only swim about 300 meters continuously before I’m out of breath. Then I need to rest for about a minute before I can go again. I do this 6 times a session.

This is starting to worry me a bit, especially with the race coming up. I’ve already taken some private lessons and I try to apply the feedback I’ve received, but I’m still struggling and not sure what to focus on next.

Do you have any tips on how I can improve my swimming endurance and efficiency? Are there specific drills, workouts, or training approaches that helped you go from short distances to being able to swim continuously?

Any advice would be really appreciated!

Thanks in advance.
