Searching for a suitable sanctuary to surrender my conures to
Over a year ago, I posted on this subreddit looking for advice to rehome my conures. Everyone gave great tips but I ended up prolonging the process, not purposely but just because life got busy.
Anyways, I have been looking at the very few parrot sanctuaries within 100 miles of me. One in particular stood out from the rest: Kiki's Playland Parrot Sanctuary and Rescue in Lansing, Michigan. I have called them multiple times on different days, but it always goes to voicemail. I also left them a message on their site. While I’d love to surrender them to Kiki’s, they make it quite difficult to get in touch.
I also emailed a rescue named “Rainbow Feathers
Bird club and Rescue” which they actually emailed back, but it seemed quite unprofessional. Apparently I would schedule a day with them to pick up my conures? Is that normal? Because I really don’t know.
I am just so afraid/worried that the wrong person will get ahold of my babies and separate them. I just want them to go to a loving home together, but it’s quite difficult finding out how to do it.
I truly love and care for my birdies so, so much, but I know they could be getting even better care with the right people. Any advice would be appreciated very much.
