stuff that looked pointless to me until i tried it and now i wont skip

  1. warm up sets. used to skip them. first working set feels completley different when you actually ramp up

  2. tempo on the eccentric. felt slow and pointless. now my muscles feel worked even at lighter weight

  3. unilateral work. thought single arm stuff was a waste. fixed an imbalance i didnt even know i had

  4. farmers carries. felt like a meme exercise. my grip on every pull lift is night and day now

  5. mobility work. 5 mins of hip stuff before legs and my squat depth is way better than when i was forcing it

what did you write off that ended up being great for you

if you cant remember what you hit last week youre guessing every time you walk in. one line per exercise is enough. weight, reps, how it felt. thats it

every time i used to stretch before a session my first 2 working sets felt completley off, like i was carrying extra fatigue before id even started. dropped it cold a while back and my lifts feel sharper from the first rep. nobody talks about how much that pre workout stretch routine actually costs you
