So my kitty has been having diarrhea for what is 4 days now and we took her to a new vet 2 days ago, it was an emergency and they were the only place that would take her in soon. These people were not helpful. They didn't recommend me to change her diet, they didn't ask me if she was lethargic, they didn't ask if she was acting out of the ordinary. All they did was ask me the typical stuff, ask me if she was drinking water and when she threw up. Then all they did was take her temp, take her weight, check her gums, and feel around her abdomen. They wanted to charge me around 500 total for 2 antibiotic injections and oral antibiotics. 2 different nausea medications when she hasn't even been lethargic. And basically electrolytes. I denied the medications bc I felt like it was a lot when they couldn't even diagnose what her problem was or even tell me what the problem could be that a simple google search wouldn't tell you. I don't trust them. The vet told me it was either gastritis or or something else I cant remember. I got an appointment with the vet we'd been seeing but it's not until a week. I'm still rather new to being a cat parent and I hadn't had a problem since I took her in until now. I payed around 250 for bloodwork which wasn't the best, I started just feeding her boiled chicken and that seems to be better for her digestion but she still has diarrhea. She's been eating grass when I take her out to the backyard bc she was a stray and likes to sit outside for a little, so she's clearly got an upset tummy. If anyone has any advice it'd be very helpful.
