Dentist for Autistic kid??
So long story short: My son needs some work done on his teeth. We tried PDOC and got kicked out pretty much after he got upset and told they'd refer him elsewhere - not only did they not do it.... we followed up and they didn't even have record of him being there.
He'll likely need sedation due to sensory issues, general fear, and sensitive gag reflex. I'm not upset that they could not help, but with a kid with needs it's a constantly moving goal post when it comes to getting help - everything is a waiting list that never materializes into help since most people do not give a crap **Sigh** sorry...
Anyways... All that said. If you know a dentist that works well with kids with sensory issues, I'll take and try any recommendation. If it's out of town, that's fine. I'm just tired of Agape, CenterStone, PDOC, and everywhere else saying they'll help and put us on a waiting list for 6 months only to turn around and put their head in the sand as soon as we ask for an update. Then another 6 months goes by and guess what - nothing. Another 6 months... nothing. In fact, no record of him being on a waiting list despite asking repeatedly and being assured.
What a mess. Sorry for the rant.
