My husband and I rescued a puppy a couple of weeks ago. She is now 3 months old and a pitti/german Shepard mix. She is overall a very good girl. She has been using pee pads bc she isn’t fully vaccinated until the end of next week and we aren’t risking her getting sick. We live in a major city with no private outdoor space, so outside is not an option right now. She will not pee or poo on the pad in front of me or my husband. She has peed and poo’d on furniture/carpet around us but not the poop bags. She can hold her bladder for 8 hours and we will be begging her to potty. We have tried waiting her out it hasn’t worked. We have tried pee pad 15 mins and crate 15 mins on and off for hours she won’t go. Her peepad is set up in our half bath. She will basically pee immediately if we close the door and leave her alone. She will poop after 5-10 mins and then loudly bark like “get me out of here!” But every time she eats her whole shit. I am don’t know how to correct this behavior if we can’t actually catch her doing it. Does anyone have any tips or ideas on how we can get her to use the pad in front of us and/or not eat her shit.
