My current workflow for making and selling digital products on Etsy in 2026
Hey everyone,
I’ve been selling digital products on Etsy for a while now (planners, Notion templates, printables, checklists, etc.). After a lot of trial and error I’ve settled into a workflow that actually feels repeatable and not overwhelming.
Thought I’d share the basic steps I follow these days:
- Niche Research I always start by checking what’s actually selling instead of just guessing. I look at search volume, competition, and what price points are working. Right now I’m focusing on niches that have decent demand but aren’t completely oversaturated.
- Getting Base Files This was always my biggest pain point. I’ve tried different sources and finally found one that feels cleaner and more up-to-date than the older PLR I used before. The files need way less fixing and the organization is actually decent.
- Customization I edit everything in Figma. I first study the top listings in the niche what mockups they use, color schemes, layout, etc. Then I make my own versions. I avoid AI mockups because they usually look off to buyers.
- Listing Keyword-focused titles and descriptions based on the research. I try to include good mockups + a short video of the product. Pricing between $7–$25 seems to work best for most items.
- Launch I run Etsy ads on new listings for the first couple of weeks to get some initial sales and reviews, then let organic traffic take over.
It’s still not perfect and I keep tweaking it, but this process lets me launch new stuff much faster than before.
Curious where you guys are at with this in 2026.
What does your workflow look like right now?
What sources are you using for templates?
Any tips on mockups or ads that have helped you?
Would love to hear how others are doing it.
