I am looking for advice on how to deal with a pretty serious parental preference for mum (me) Toddler is 17 months so while she is starting to understand a lot, we can’t exactly explain why she can go with dad etc. She is my little shadow, she will follow me everywhere, often waits at the door while I shower, wants to be touching me in some way all the time. It’s so beautiful but it can be exhausting and my heart just breaks a little for my partner. He is so devoted and tries so hard to play with her all the time, which she happily will sometimes, but after a few minutes, will come looking for me. I will say, she does happily stay with him all day while I go to work (part time) but anytime I’m home she must be with me. How can you navigate this? She won’t do bed time with him, and I mostly do all night settling I know this is normal but I just want to get partner involved more without the meltdowns! Thanks
