Hi all.
I recently upgraded the BIOS on my Z690 HERO while doing a system clean for a fresh slate and upon completion, it failed to POST initially with 64GB of RAM.
I figured out that my MOBO didn't like my four-channel of RAM setup (two sets of identical 2x16GB RAM) after my BIOS update. So, I removed one set of RAM and dropped to a single-set of 2x 16GB and I was able to get my system to post.
However, for the past 2x years prior (I built my system in 2022, added more RAM in 2024), my computer's been working great with the 64GB of RAM on previous versions of BIOS. I even tried to rollback to the version of BIOS I was using and I can't get my system to POST with the 2 sets of RAM.
I am using RAM from ASUS' QVL (Qualified Vender List):
- G.Skill Trident RAM I'm using
Prior to the BIOS update and the problem, my motherboard recognized all 64GM of RAM as did Windows. And I was a happy camper. But the BIOS update screwed that all up.
Any pointers or help on how I can get my system to go back to recognizing my twin-set of 2x16GB RAM?
I really depend on it for work as I do a lot of browser-based work-from-home and photo editing (just today alone, I was already averaging 29GB of RAM use)
TIA
