Hello! So I started my journey about 4 weeks ago and have lost about 8lbs so far. I know some of that can be water weight but progress has recently slowed (unsure why, maybe hormones as I have PCOS or water fluctuations?)
Currently, my calculated maintenance was about 2700 cal, so I have been eating around 2200 for a deficit. After seeing another post suggesting to include body fat %, I recalculated and got a maintenance of about 2300 cal which would mean a ~1800 cal cut instead.
Now I’m unsure which to trust. 2200 seems to be working, but should 1800 be the one I follow since it’s based on body fat %, or could it be too aggressive. Curious if others dealt with a similar situation and if it’s better to just stay where I am or adjust down.
