Hey,
I’m planning a summer trip from Nice to Rome and I want to add a short stop (1–2 days) somewhere along the way.
I’m looking for a place that fits this:
Nice sandy beaches where you can actually swim and relax
A small, cozy town that’s nice to walk around in
Good food and a relaxed atmosphere
Some nice scenery or nature nearby
Easy to reach by train between Nice and Rome
Not too touristy or chaotic, but still with some life
The idea is not to stay long, just a short break where I can slow down for a day or two, enjoy the beach, eat well, and explore a bit without a strict plan.
I’ve looked at places like Viareggio, Santa Margherita Ligure, and maybe some towns in Liguria or Tuscany, but I’m not sure what actually works best for this kind of stop.
If anyone has suggestions for a good beach town between Nice and Rome that fits this, I’d really appreciate it.
Thanks.
