I’ve been working with this vet for the past year. I’m a new grad and I ask questions . The way I learn is by asking questions and people being direct. The vet I work with gets really annoyed when I ask her things, for example in the middle of a dental when she’s extracting teeth and I ask what she’s taking out she will get huffy when she answers, like I’m supposed to know. I know I could wait until the end but I’d rather know so I can keep documenting. When I ask her what dose of sedation she wants to give patients she again answers with an attitude, I think it’s because I ask what dose she wants and the other nurse is confident enough to give whatever. Another thing is when I ask questions in general to learn more, etc about a patient, a procedure we are doing, a dosage etc. I try to memorise things as much as I can. But should I keep doing what I’m doing? Or do I need to get my act together and work off of my own initiative?
