When can children get diagnosed?

Hi I’m a mum to a 16 month old, based in the UK, and I am diagnosed with hEDS. My partner (my daughter’s dad) is Hypermobile as well but doesn’t have EDS. My daughter has struggled with constipation since basically birth, we’ve tried 4 different laxatives and the only thing that’s currently working is a mix of both laxatives and stool softeners, I’m talking she would do poos as solid as bricks maybe once every 2 weeks before we found the magic combo of laxatives. She’s had haemorrhoids on a few different occasions as well due to the straining. She’s under an allergist as she’s also allergic to dairy and soy and during our last appointment with this doctor he was watching her play and noticed the way she was sitting and moving. He said that she’s extremely Hypermobile, obviously all babies are Hypermobile but he said something about how she’s more Hypermobile than they would expect for someone her age. Anyway this just sent alarm bells ringing in my head as I have hEDS, now of course there’s the possibility she’s just Hypermobile like her dad and she won’t have any of the issues I’ve had but then I was thinking about her constipation and I’m wondering if it’s a possibility she also has hEDS. I suppose my question is really where do I go from here? What do I look for? Do I need to contact anyone to express my concerns? Her shoulders do click a lot, they always have. Is that a cause for concern? She also keeps getting reoccurring ear infections which I have read can be related to hEDS in some people

Thanks in advance,
A very anxious first time mum

Reading help?

Hi everyone! I have hEDS, was diagnosed in 2022. I am a big reader, I have over 400 books and read about 4 a week however 16 months ago I gave birth to my beautiful baby girl and since my pregnancy I’ve been finding my symptoms a lot worse than before, between the strain pregnancy itself caused and also carrying round a toddler 24/7 it’s been rough. In the evenings I usually unwind with a book, I do have a kindle but i usually prefer physical copies (can’t explain why I just do), but I’ve been really struggling with my hands and reading, like I feel like I almost don’t have the strength to hold a book and when holding it it’s killing my wrists and fingers, does anyone have any advice? I’ve already had to give up playing guitar due to my fingers years ago and really don’t want to lose this hobby too. I can’t get on with audio books, believe me I’ve tried but the information just doesn’t go in my head unless I’m actively reading it
