Should I apply to YL Or PGP
i m applying to Indian School of Business and need advice on whether to target YLP or regular PGP.
My profile:
9/9/8 academics
District Rank 2 in 10th
Institute rank in two academic years in college
President of finance/investment club in college
~2 years work ex by Round 1 2026
1 year in private credit/client-facing finance role
Switching to a startup now
GMAT yet to give
Here’s the dilemma:
By the YLP cutoff, I’ll exceed the 2-year work ex limit by just 5 days. However, I can delay my joining date at the new startup by 5 days and remain eligible for YLP.
Would it make more sense to:
Delay joining slightly and apply through YLP, or
Just apply through regular PGP with ~2 years work ex?
I understand YLP is more competitive overall, but I’m worried that having relatively lower work ex in the regular PGP pool could also be a disadvantage.
Would appreciate honest opinions from people familiar with ISB admissions.
