I bought an iPad as a Mother’s Day gift, and I want it protected properly. My brother-in-law is helping with the screen protector/case, but he is very cheap and tends to buy the lowest-cost option. I do not want him cheaping out on protection because we do not have insurance/AppleCare on this iPad, and we want it to last for years.
The iPad is for my mother-in-law. She had a stroke and is still recovering, so she sometimes drops things by accident. Because of that, I care more about real protection than saving $10–$20.
I’m looking for:
- High-quality tempered glass screen protector
- Strong case with raised edges
- Good corner/drop protection
- Something that actually protects the iPad, not just a thin decorative case
I’ve been looking at brands like ZAGG InvisibleShield XTR4, ZAGG Glass Elite, Belkin ScreenForce, Spigen, and ESR Armorite.
Questions:
- Is ZAGG XTR4 actually worth it?
- Does the ZAGG lifetime warranty work well in real life?
- What screen protector would you trust most for long-term protection?
- What case would you recommend for someone who may accidentally drop the iPad?
- Are there any brands/cases/screen protectors I should avoid?
I am not trying to overdo it, but since there is no insurance on the iPad and it is for someone recovering from a stroke, I want the protection to be solid.
