By switching between the Emaj7 and Bm7, we are switching between E Ionian and B Dorian. So in other words, we're switching between the key of E major, and A major. I love that Jerry accomplishes this by simply targeting the maj7 of E (the note D#), and then Bm-based arpeggio runs.

I love the way Jerry plays over the changes here, and his syncopated rhythms create lots of forward motion. Full lesson coming soon.
