3 weeks ago I started a job with a small restaurant group and I’m needing advice and recommendations. I worked for a QSR company doing marketing for 3 years and spent the last 5 years in CPG doing marketing for a multi-million dollar company. I was recently hired on to a small restaurant group that has 14 locations with the goal being that I bring all marketing in-house because their agency hasn’t been producing for a while now. Their budget is almost non-existent and they have no brand consistency which is affecting their recognition and marketing efforts. No style guide, set colors, fonts, brand voice etc. and their agency is very territorial about me coming in. Obviously my first goal is to nail down the brand guidelines and get consistency across their marketing channels. The budget is almost non-existent until I can generate some ROI. Looking for advice on navigating the waters, recommendations for tools that could be beneficial, ideas on grassroots marketing with a low budget that could generate some small quick wins, and anything else you might have. The founder and owner is the CEO, a super nice guy, but a terrible decision maker. Very indecisive and all over the place, he thinks he knows what he wants but he changes his mind by the hour, sometimes minute.
