I just came across this new law about the declaration of citizenship for descedants of children of german mothers. Here is tree:
grandmother
- born in Germany
- came to Greece
- gave birth to my mum in 1971
- married my greek grandpa in 1972
mother
- born in 1971 in Greece
- married my greek father
self
- born in 2003 in Greece
My grandmother still maintains her german citizenship and is currently in Munich. my mother never got it though even tho she was born a year before my grandma got married to my grandpa and so i never did aswell. germany is aware of my grandmothers new surname in greece and her marriage. do i have any chances of becoming a proud German and escaping from Greece ????
