Early note on why I am panicking: I have grad studies in 3 months and I’m deciding between scholarship offers in different countries worth a few crores INR. If this company delays my exit docs, F&F, or damages my record, it can affect visa, decisions, and mental peace.
I joined only few months back because it was started by famous researchers, but most had already left. I got stuck with toxic people, and one senior started shouting on calls, threatened to “show me my place,” and later I found out in an HR call that he had already been giving negative feedback about me behind my back.
Even then I clearly said I will finish handover properly and serve full notice so it does not reflect badly on my profile. I shared code, docs, KT, updates, and completed manager’s requested changes too. Still HR asked if I want to reduce last date because this person claimed I’m not working properly, otherwise exit docs may get delayed (HR threatened me). I’ve followed up with HR, manager, finance, asset team, even asked where to courier laptop, but no proper response.
What should I do in these last 2 days so I have proof I completed everything properly? Also, is saving emails as PDF or copying my personal email in these threads risky?
I am aware that the last options would be legal notice, labor commissioner/court and civil courts but am worried of slow Indian legal processes (grad school issue). I am sending email requests and will probably even send one to the CEO and other senior admin if this drags past my last day.
TL;DR: Toxic senior threatened me, bad-mouthed me to HR, and now it feels like they may delay my exit even after proper handover. I have grad school and scholarship decisions in 3 months, so I need realistic advice fast.
