Hi guys,

This is probably a really stupid post.

I've put my chain on heaps of times and never had an issue, I can't for the life of me figure out what's suddenly going wrong.

I've had my derailleur hanger break so I've just replaced the hanger and reinstalled the derailleur, and I'm now trying to put the chain back on. My understanding is it goes over the jockey pulley, down through the channel, under both tabs, and then comes out over the tension puley, wraps around the pulley and connects. But I suddenly can't seem to physically fit the chain through between the gap of the tab and the tension pulley. I have no idea what's happening.

Any help please? Thanks heaps

Hello, I would like some advice please.

I recently received a redundancy after working at a rural medical corporation in middle management for around 2 years.

I am staying in the area as I own a house with my partner and we have a baby on the way, due to be born in about 6 months.

I am torn between two offers I've received for a 'lifestyle' and a 'career' job.

The 'career' job is a private multinational company offering a HR job, for around 110k a year, full time. It would flow and align better with my CV, going from management into HR. I think it would be challenging and upskill me and might be more engaging and interesting, but the downside is that it's a 40 hour work week, half hour commute daily, and likely high pressure private environment. I do like the idea of a challenging engaging job but I think that I would learn a lot in the first few months and then after that I would just be stuck in the 'grind' and may not end up very happy. It might be a very corporate bullshit job.

The other job is with Community Corrections as a case manager. 35 hour work week, flexi time, one minute commute, seems like a chill office and team. This is kind of a step back in my career though going from management to case worker, and I've already been a case manager previously prior to getting into management. It's also only for 10 months initially but I am quite confident I would get extended to full time. The job pays around 10k less but the financial aspect is pretty irrelevant to me as we are quite comfortable financially as a couple. Please don't take this into account as a significant factor with your advice.

Given a baby is on the way, I am inclined to take the lifestyle job, as my main focus and passion in life is my family and hobbies outside of work, but I also want to maintain some career momentum and engagement. I think a lot of it comes down to ego and identity as well, and I want to have some sense of career momentum.

I am honestly completely torn and going over and over it without being able to make a decision.

Any advice please?
