Hi everyone,

I’m facing an issue with my driver’s license validity and would appreciate some guidance.

I initially applied for my EAD and submitted all required documents to USCIS. After that, my H1B was approved through my attorney. So currently, my status is H1B.

However, when I recently obtained my driver’s license, the expiration date was set based on my EAD validity, which is only about 6 months. As per my understanding, since my status is now H1B, the license should ideally be valid until my H1B approval expiration date.

I visited the DMV, and they tried to update the information, but the system still shows the EAD expiration date instead of my H1B validity.

Has anyone experienced a similar situation?

  • How can I get my license updated to reflect my H1B status?
  • Do I need to contact USCIS, SAVE system, or revisit DMV with different documents?
  • Any tips to resolve this issue faster?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi everyone,

I’m currently working full-time on an H1B visa in the U.S., and I’m planning to travel to Nepal for my wedding. I initially came to the U.S. on a student visa and later transitioned directly to H1B without doing OPT.

I have a few questions and would really appreciate any guidance or shared experiences:

  • My current visa stamp is from my previous status. Since my H1B is approved, do I need to go for visa stamping before re-entering the U.S.?
  • What is the process for booking a consular interview for H1B stamping?
  • Are there any risks or delays I should be aware of while planning travel?
  • Any tips for a smooth reentry process?

If anyone has been in a similar situation or has insights, I’d be grateful for your advice.

Thank you in advance!
