Parent Pick-Up the Dramedy

I got yelled at today in the parent pick up line for about the 100th time in my 18 year career.

It never ceases to amaze me how drivers feel so empowered by their vehicles.

Today I wave her forward once and when she doesn’t move I just stop. Just stand and wait because what’s the point. Fine. Hold up two other lanes stopping in the literal crosswalk… FINE.

I must have fired off a telepathic message or had my hip popped at just the right angle to communicate, ”really?!”

She locks eyes with me, grips the wheel with both hands, pulls up fast enough that her breaks screech and starts yelling at me.

I just can’t. She pauses. Waiting for a response. I kind of tersely say, “You are blocking the lane again just to yell at me. We have 200 kids out here in 96 degrees baking in the sun. Please move forward!”

I’ve NEVER felt more like a meme than today. LMAO.

Guys 11 more days!

What are your pick up line stories? I know you have them!
