My macbook likes to overheat at random moments. Especially when I have more than 2 applications running at a time. Though I can't seem to find one specific trigger. I've taken my computer to the Genius Bar, and was told that it was a known defect with the Intel processor and they couldn't do anything about it. They sent it back to Ca for a complete factory wipe and opened up and apparently didn't find anything. It was about 6mo ago so I don't remember all the details. My SO says I should just get a new computer, but other than this issue, it runs fine. Is there something I can do to keep it from overheating? Sometimes I won't even be on it, and it'll be in my work bag and will overheat.
For info if it helps:
- Processor: 1.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
- Graphics: Intel Iris Plus Graphics 645 1536 MB
- 8GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
- OS: Sequoia 15.7.5
Is there anything I can do, like replace the processor or something? -Thanks
