I have a question. I am finishing up the book Blood in the Machine which tells the story of the rise (and fall) of the Luddites. I had heard the term loosely but never thought too much of it. It appears that Ned Ludd and the luddite movement was a significnat attempt at a revolution. I don't think this was a time that hundreds of people died (either in combat or from executions) but it does appear that dozens of people died. I don't remember reading about any of this in history books in high school (US).

My question: Was this actually a huge movement? Is it more it was 2 years which is barely a blip on the time radar? Thanks for you help!
