How to be the best version of yourself?

I’m a 17-year-old girl, and I just finished my board exams. I haven’t been diagnosed with PCOS yet—just a hormonal imbalance. I’ve never had regular periods since menarche, and my mom refuses to take me to a gynaecologist because she thinks it would be a waste of money. She also doesn’t support me in making healthier choices, and I feel stuck because of academics. I really do want to get better; I just don’t know how to start. I feel like I’m old enough now to take steps on my own. I want to be comfortable in my own skin and feel confident. I’ve been bullied all my life—by family, peers, and others—and before starting college, I really want to improve myself. I feel like if my mom sees some positive changes in me, she might start supporting me, but I’m not sure.
