Looking for recommendations — Raqi, marriage counsellor, or life coach in the GCC
Hey r/UAE — putting this up as a founder, will flag the obvious self-interest upfront so the mods don't have to.
I co-founded a small wellbeing platform called Sukoon (trysukoon.com) earlier this year. The idea was simple — most of us in this region don't know where to actually find a vetted Raqi, a faith-aligned counsellor, marriage counsellor or even a decent life coach without going through WhatsApp forwards from someone's cousin. We started by manually connecting clients with a few practitioners we'd personally vetted, mostly for Ruqyah but also for relationship and marriage counselling, life coaching, and stress relief sessions.
The response has honestly caught us off guard. The past couple of years have been heavy for a lot of people in this part of the world, and I think more folks are looking for help — but quietly, and for the kind of help that takes their faith seriously. We're now at a point where we can't keep up with the Ruqyah requests, which is a good problem but a real one.
So two asks:
- If you know a Raqi anywhere in the GCC (or even Egypt, Jordan, etc. — many of our practitioners work remotely) who you'd personally trust, I'd be grateful for an intro. Same goes for counsellors — relationship, marriage, stress, life coaching. We do a proper vetting process before anyone goes live, but a warm referral from someone who knows their work helps a lot.
