Hey everyone,

I recently bought the XteInk X3 from AliExpress. It arrived with the usual Chinese firmware and was locked, so the first thing I did was unlock it using the Unlock Windows Tool and then flash Crossink 1.2.9‑tiny.

The flashing process worked fine and the device generally runs well — but every fourth or fifth time I boot it, something goes wrong:

• no books/files show up
• all settings are suddenly gone
• or I get a “SD Card Error” message

After one or too reboots it usually works again, but the issue keeps coming back.

So now I’m wondering:

• Did I do something wrong during the unlock/flash process?
• Is this a known issue with the X3 or CrossInk?
• Do I simply need a new SD card?
• And if so, is there a recommended way to replace/reflash it properly?

Any advice from people who have modded this device (or similar ones) would be super helpful.
