I’ve noticed something in this subreddit (and in chat)
When male viewers see a female NPC and spam “mommy,” people call it out as annoying or creepy. Fair enough.
But female viewers constantly say "daddy" or "hear me out" on male NPCs for eg. Who's at My Door?, where the character is literally a serial killer who ruins people's faces, nobody says a word. It's the same behavior, just as frequent, if not more.
Why does one get called out and the other get dubbed as funny or silly?
I wouldn't even make this post if it was a one off thing, but it's a consistent pattern across multiple games. Female simping gets a pass every single time, while male simping gets mocked relentlessly.
Not saying either is a big deal. Just noticing the double standard as I've seen a lot of posts on this subreddit calling the male viewers out.
