Rewatching Supernatural

I'm going to start my first rewatching of supernatural. I finished it back in 2020 with the series finale. I'm really excited! Here are some things I'm going to do on my first rewatch:

  1. I'm going to try to see things through Dean's eyes.

Throughout the whole show Sam has always been my favorite. I thought Dean was (eventually) okay. He really PMO the first season though. He was always giving Sam a hard time just because he wanted to live his life his way. But because Dean wanted to be a hunter then that meant Sam should abandon his dreams and be there with him even if he was miserable.

But, like I said, I'm going to try to see it from Dean's point of view.

  1. I'm only watching seasons 1-5

I thoroughly enjoyed the first 5 seasons. Then season 6 came along and it just destroyed everything that happened prior. Continuity? Gone. Character development? Gone. The vibe that made the show so special? You bet that's gone!

I am only watching until the season 5 finale and then I will live happily knowing that Sam got out of the Pit.

I have a lot of gripes with S6-S15. Crowley and Castiel should have never come back after season 5. After what happened with Ruby, I thought everyone understood that all demons are evil. But then the writers decided that the Winchesters and Crowley should be the best of friends, even though Crowley has killed thousands of innocent people.

That scene where Dean is praying to God to resurrect Crowley just gets under my skin.

But this post has gone on long enough so I won't be able to type out all of the problems I had with the series as it went on.

Looking forward to rewatching!
