WTH? This seems a ridiculous update?

It used to be that on the search screen, you got an indication of the number of new items since you last checked on the left of each search. This is now been replaced with just a green dot?

If it said 3 before, you just needed to look at the first three items to know you'd seen newly added stuff. With this dot, you have to try and remember what items you saw last time you checked that search?

What's the thinking behind this change?

And change it back asap, please, as this new format is useless!
