Eli Lilly is a mess in India

With fake mounjaros popping in Indian markets, It is absolutely absurd that Lilly has provided absolutely nothing to check the authenticity of their injections in India.

Even protein supplements worth 500rs have authentication codes but not billion dollar worth company Eli Lilly.🤡

So here's what happened: I was prescribed isotretinoin 20mg for mild but persistent acne by my dermatologist. I took 20mg once daily for 6 weeks, then my dermatologist prescribed 10mg once daily for the next 3 weeks.

Around 50 days after starting isotretinoin, suddenly one morning the vision in my right eye became blurry, colors appeared dull, and I started seeing a dark spot for 1-2 seconds right after blinking in my central vision.

The next day I went to an ophthalmologist to get my eyes checked, and after a few tests, I was diagnosed with Central Serous Retinopathy (CSR) in my right eye. It is a condition where fluid basically builds up under the central part of the retina, which leads to the symptoms I was having. I told the ophthalmologist that I'm on isotretinoin and asked if this condition could be linked to isotretinoin and if I should stop this medication. Although he said I could continue with my regular medicines as the exact cause of CSR isn't fully known yet—it's mainly linked to stress—the ophthalmologist still wasn't completely informed about isotretinoin and what it does.

So the next day I went to my dermatologist and informed him about the CSR I was diagnosed with in my right eye, and he immediately asked me to stop isotretinoin and even crossed its name off my prescription.

So, apparently, in rare cases, theoretically, isotretinoin can cause or worsen this condition, which is why the dermatologist stopped it immediately.

Here's a case study regarding the same: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/321736042_Central_serous_chorioretinopathy_probably_associated_with_isotretinoin_in_a_keratoconus_patient
