Getting a second ferret - adoption vs reputable breeder

I’m thinking about getting a companion for my ferret, even though it would be easier for me to keep just one (finances + moving countries soon). I feel like he’d be happier with a friend.

My ferret Mire is 1 year and 1 month old, male, chemically neutered , slightly bigger than average, on a raw and it seems like he’s constantly testing boundaries and strength with others (everyone else but me).

I am thinking of adopting, but I am not sure whats the best option.

Questions:

If adopted, would Mire switch to kibble diet partially (raw and kibble would be in the same cage)

What age should the second ferret be (especially if adopting)?

Is it better to adopt or go with a breeder?

Male or female?

What if they don’t get along?

Also, we live in the Europe

Any advice is appreciated!
