John Merrick in Music

John Merrick in Music

Have you heard this?

French singer Mylène Farmer, who was a big fan and friend of David’s, released a track featuring John Merrick’s voice in 1991. It’s an incredible piece of work and a tribute to this iconic film.

Interestingly, in 2024, David created a remix of one of Mylène’s songs—“Je te rends ton amour” (David Lynch Remix) — and after his death, Mylène released the song “Confession” in his honor. It seems to me that their worlds are similar in many ways and overlap. I mean a penchant for the strange, the gloomy, the surreal—things unlike anything else. She is literally the most fascinating figure in French music since the 1980s.

The song “Peace Of Mind” is more relevant than ever🥹

“Peace Of Mind” symbolizes our present—a world where life is becoming increasingly virtual, where the online world takes precedence over the offline world. Social media has become an integral part of life, where there is so much information that it literally overwhelms us; we are drowning in it. And now artificial intelligence is confidently taking over the world, and that, to be honest, is scary and unsettling. I think it’s terrible and wrong when music is generated by AI rather than created by a human. What’s the point of creativity then, if it isn’t created by the human soul? Where will this lead us? Where is the world heading? World really is moving too fast.

«Can I get a little peace of mind?»

🥹My True Story About Timeless Music✨️

Hi!👋 I want to share my story, which proves once again just how timeless Tim’s music is and how it can influence new generations. Share your thoughts on this and let me know if you enjoyed reading it.

*I was a kid and a teenager and wasn’t interested in electronic dance music or DJs at all when Tim became famous and his hits were playing everywhere. This guy seemed to be with me throughout my entire adolescence; he was always playing somewhere in the background, even though he was never on my playlist, unfortunately. It was music that was constantly playing on music TV channels, the radio, and through the speakers of phones at school. As it turned out, Tim even came to perform in my city once, and I didn’t even know about it, though I probably wouldn’t have gone anyway, since I was still too young for concerts. And one of his music videos was filmed in my hometown.

Last year, feeling nostalgic for my childhood and listening to old music on YouTube, I stumbled upon “Levels” and suddenly remembered just how popular that song used to be. But now this music no longer seemed like mere background noise, just one of thousands of similar EDM tracks—not at all. Now it sounded very special and poignant; in the end, I completely reevaluated the music scene of the 2010s. I discovered the world of EDM, which I had previously ignored.

I was deeply moved and touched by the story of his life, which I learned about through documentaries and a biography. It felt like everything inside me changed and the world turned upside down when I realized just how fragile and fleeting human life is, and that someone who, at 28, had achieved incredible success, with so much money and opportunity, could want to take their own life. All of this made me think about how important mental health is and how often we forget about it.

It seems strange that this music has turned out to be so necessary and relevant to me right now. It doesn’t feel outdated; it sounds fresh, as if it were just created, and Avicii seems alive. It feels as though Avicii has always been a part of my life.*

🥹I love you, Tim. I'm sorry I didn't appreciate you enough while you were with us. Your music brings light and salvation to this crazy and scary world. I love you so much 💔

I'm working on an interesting and special tribute that I'll be sharing with you soon

Where can I find the TRUE photoshoot?

Where can I find high-quality photos from the TRUE album without any text?

I’m referring to the photos used for the covers of the songs “Wake Me Up” and “Hey Brother,” but clean versions without any text. I’d really appreciate it if you could share them.
