Hello people,
So I recently rage quit my job, no regrets so far, but I want to spend a bit more time in Japan traveling and actually enjoying life here.
Right now, I’ve submitted my resignation letter and explained my reasons. I’ve been taken off projects, but the whole HR process hasn’t really started yet.
My PTO should be used up by the end of June, and ideally I’d like to stay in Japan til at least the end of October. Is there any way to switch to unpaid leave in a legally protected way that my company couldn’t refuse? If so, does anyone know what the maximum period would be?
There seem to be some info on internet saying unpaid leave could be max one and half year, and sometime that would need a doctors note on your wellbeing. Does anyone know if the doctor note is necessary?
Thanks in advance.
