Hello everyone!

I’m from Michigan and I have a 2021 Ford escape titanium 2.0L 4 cylinder (non-Hybrid) escape in black. It is 64,373 miles on it right now from the ford pass app.

Around the 59,000 mile marker I noticed a buzzing sound coming from the back of the back of the car and it would radiate up to the cabin. I brought it to the ford dealership where I get all my maintenance done.

They diagnosed it as a muffler/exhaust problem. They said that my entire exhaust would need to be replaced! So I went for a second opinion to a specific muffler and exhaust shop across town that my brother (who works for ford) said was a great place. They also said the entire exhaust needed to be replaced.

I got the car used and have ford care and protect plan but since it’s not apart of “the drive train” they said it wasn’t covered. I was quoted from both places anywhere between $2500-$4500 to fix this issue.

I asked them if it was detrimental to the car and both places said no it could just get worse and be more annoying. Well now it’s getting worse. They described it as a clapper valve that opens when you hit the accelerator? I don’t really remember but they said the whole exhaust needed to be replaced.

Also, the check engine light is not on

Please help.
