Sqe orals day 1
Feels like a really silly question but i’ve been told that first day is DR advocacy and Property interviewing - is that correct?

Without breaching NDA, how many pages of material do the SRA give for you to read?
Some mocks ive found much more manageable due to less material being provided whereas some have been 12+ pages so that by the time i’ve read the material and prepared a summary of the facts, i only have 20ish mins to prepare my actual submissions. I wouldnt say im a slow reader lol.
Similarly, some inhouse law mocks have you doing multiple applications in one (just did one where you had to provide: summary of facts, show absence of elements of s2 fraud, oppose a BC application, and oppose a hearsay application). Just felt totally unmanageable to do effectively in the time. Could something like this realistically come up?
Generally, how would you approach the prep time?
Really quite confused about the level of background facts needed in submissions. A lot of samples i’ve seen do spend a fair bit of time on background in both DR and Crim.
However, some providers recommend asking if the judge would like a “summary of the facts”, and, if not, immediately moving onto setting out the relevant law.
The second option obviously saves time and is good for concise submissions but when using that strategy i always find myself backtracking trying to explain the facts while I apply law, which makes that section less focussed and less fluent.
Understand that there’s no right answer but trying to figure out if there’s certain topics where a summary of the facts/procedural history is needed.
A strategy i’ve tried is setting out only disputed facts rather than all of the facts of the case - but this is not always possible without just providing the entire background. Just looking for the sub’s thoughts really.
