Brought a sallet when I was 16 thinking I'd buy a full kit of armour with my summer job pay cheque. I was wrong and am relatively wiser now having done proper research into what armour pieces fit with what for authenticity.
I'm currently debating whether to stick with this sallet to build out the rest of my kit or start a new impression from scratch and keep this only as a decoration piece (intended use being re-enactment).
With an arming cap (not pictured) the slit lines up pretty well with my line of sight, and it's got space for my glasses which I'm blind without, but at the same time, I'm just worried that it might be too big since I can't tell if there's a little *too* much space. The suspended lining is pretty good but that only adds to my fears that I'm actually way overestimating the amount of space that should be in there.
