slmc grads, where are you now?

hi, i’m considering slmc for med school this sy. i’m just curious about the grads of the school and what you are doing now? i’ve heard there’s a perception that the school doesn’t really provide great clinical experience, and i’m wondering if this was a factor that affected your residency choices?

also did u guys go to residency agad after passing the ple or did u do observerships, pre-res, etc. to gain more clinical exposure?

do you regret choosing slmc for med school?

thanks for any response!

slmc this year or ust next year?

hi, i badly need some advice. for context, i studied in ust for undergrad and graduated with latin honors, and took a gap year to study for boards. my top choice for med school talaga is ust but i didn’t get to apply this year because i wasn’t aware na 1 year lang ang validity ng nmat (i took the nmat last oct 2024). i found out too late na i should’ve taken the nmat pala this jan-feb cycle.

i want to just apply next year but my dad is not convinced it’s worth it to skip another year, and he doesn’t think that schools matter. and if i don’t do it this year, he’s forcing me to study in the province (which i do not want). my only option if i go this year is slmc.

but i’m hesitating since a lot of ppl say (including a doctor) that there’s a lot u can’t do as a clerk and intern sa slmc. i’m also worried that i won’t be on par with my peers in terms of clinical experience. and if i were to be a doctor, i want to have the best training. (well and add to the fact that ust is actually my dream school in med lol)

on the other hand, i’m wondering if it’s okay to skip another year and if that really matters? and if the school actually matters? i feel so confused. would appreciate any advice u guys can give. thank u:)

I’m currently deciding on whether to take dentistry in CEU, UPM, or NU. Can anyone provide insights on:

a) Quality of education (theoretical and practical)
b) On-campus life
c) Clinical training (are there enough facilities? does the school help in getting patients?)
d) Opportunities after graduation (is there a school that will have a good edge for work/post-grad studies?)
e) Cons for each school

Thank you so much!
