Did I ruin my sleeping bag?

I bought my sleeping bag, tent, and pad off of marketplace. I looked up how to clean a tent (soak it in a bathtub in soap and gently agitate it, then hang it) and figured I could do the same to my sleeping bag. Well, I don’t think so. I’m bummed.
The fluff inside is now all messed up and not in the right spot it used to be in. It’s like if you threw a pillow inside the dryer and it makes it all weird.

Is it ruined?

Hey all, not a thru hiker but I love doing day hikes on the AT and hopefully will section hike at the very least, maybe thru eventually!

I’m going to start backpacking and camping this summer as I’ve never done it before.
My friend and I are going to the Adirondacks and I know that’s not the AT but I felt this was a good sub to ask about ticks.
I’m a super paranoid person and hypochondriac (ironic for this hobby) and know a lot about ticks and alpha gal syndrome - my BIGGEST fear and concern.

I learned you should pre treat gear with permethrin and use picardin/ deet on your skin.
With the rise of ticks because of the climate change, and just in general, should I be scared? How do you guys manage and are you scared? How effective is that?
