I'm looking to treat a friend to a slap up meal and I'm trying to think of a restaurant to go to.
Now, the obvious answers to "best" restaurants in Manchester are places like Mana, Adam Reid at the French, Skof (I'll probably never get a table anyway), Higher Ground, but that isn't really his scene.
I'd like to avoid anywhere that is overly small platey.
What I want is something with proper hospitality, a proper feed and great produce - on that description alone Hawksmoor would be top of the list but it might be a bit too steaky for him.
Where am I missing?
