Enlisting Soon: SF Support vs Ranger Regiment Support. Which Path Actually Builds Better Tactical Skills? (Compared to big army infantry)
Shipping to basic in a couple months and Im trying to lock in the smartest contract. I want a support MOS like 25U comms but in a high speed unit so I actually build real tactical skills instead of just doing regular army stuff.
For someone focused on comms, is it better to push for a slot in an SF Group Support Battalion or in the 75th Ranger Regiment support(option 40)? Which one actually gives you better training, schools, and hands on tactical experience?
And how do those compare to just going 11B infantry in the 82nd or 101st? Is the jump in skills night and day or more marginal?
Looking for real input from guys whove been there. What extra CQB, live fire, deployments, or tactical training do you get in SF or Ranger support that regular 82nd line doesnt? Which path builds the most useful skills long term?
The one guy I knew that went to RASP dropped from it after seeing girls being able to assess. Is this a common thing now as well? It’s kind of odd.
Appreciate the no BS answers. Thanks.💪
