Hi, I’ve passed the intake exams for the UvA SNE program and I’m preparing for the interview.
I’d like to understand the actual expectations more concretely:
How technical do the questions get?
(e.g. surface-level concepts vs deep explanations like TCP/IP internals, DNS/NAT process, etc.)
Do they focus more on:
- fundamentals (networking, Linux, Python)
- or on how you think / problem-solving?
How detailed should I go when discussing my projects?
(e.g. is high-level explanation enough, or do they drill into implementation details?)
Any examples of questions you were asked would be really helpful.
For context, I have a background in:
- networking fundamentals
- a few security-related projects (IDS, web security tool)
- some research on smart contract security
