Hey there!
I'm one of the 2 co-founders of Breakcold (a sales CRM).
This week I got the most validating DM against the "I vibe-coded my CRM in 1 hour" people.
A senior exec at Zapier in charge of AI & innovation sent me this in the LinkedIn DMs (see above)
Let that sink in. Zapier. The company whose entire identity is integrations and automation.
During an internal hacktahon tried to vibe-code a clone of our product in Cursor, hit the wall, and came back asking for a real subscription.
This reflect perfectly what Dharmesh Shah (HubSpot CTO) just said about vibe coding in a YT video some months ago.
His framework:
- Narrow use case + low maintenance → vibe code away
- Wide use case + high maintenance → red flags
- Wide use case + high maintenance + lots of users → don't
CRM is bucket 3. Always.
His three counters to the standard founder objections:
- "CRMs are expensive." HubSpot starts free. Paid starts at $15/month. Your time isn't free. The math doesn't math.
- "I'll build exactly what I need." Sure - today. Integrations will kill you the moment you scale. And you'll scale sooner than you think.
- "We're AI-native, we vibe code everything." Cool. So does Lovable. They use HubSpot though, they didn't rebuild Hubspot.
His real point: every calorie you spend vibe-coding a CRM is a calorie not spent creating value for your customers. Customers don't care what CRM you use. They care what you build for them.
I'm obviously biased, I sell a sales CRM for a living. But it's hard to argue with a Zapier senior exec literally typing "I think I just need the real deal" into my inbox at 5 AM in the morning.
Like Dharmesh said: biased, but not wrong.

I know in this subreddit there are MANY tech savvy people and I LOVE VIBE CODING TOO.
Yes, you can do everything technically, but why spend $$$$$$$$ in tokens (1) to save $20/mo on a $50/mo subscription (2) on a rebuild that you'll have to maintain (3) when you could just funnel that energy into growing your own business/product? (4).
What's your thoughts on that?
