Seriously, this is the first time in my career that I can say, my employees are unmanageable. We hold them accountable according to company policy and they basically have a meltdown. Yes, I have been weeding out the bad apples.

A few months back, somebody was terminated for poor performance. The result? Having to call law enforcement because they physically tried to attack me. I told HR I was terminating people on teams or via phone call after that.

Recent incident number 2. Employee number one was terminated for cause. The person who was going to temporarily take on the terminated employee's role wanted to know why their schedule changed. I informed him we would have a meeting the next day to discuss the change. He proceeds to get drunk during his off hours, call multiple employees, and start texting myself and my supervisors. In a group text, he sent profanity filled messages. I send out the obligatory cease and desist text (because it's 2am). He then proceeds to threaten me. I woke up my HR manager at 2:30am. Icing on the cake, he tells employee number 1 that they were going to be terminated. We had not informed anyone of the pending termination. After the sun rises, employee 2 calls the other manager. We could hear him yelling over the phone.

Needless to say, I asked HR to handle both terminations.

This has never happened to me before. At this point, I'm not really comfortable at work. My motivation to address any problems with my team is zero. It's like stepping on landmines. I think I need to find a new position.
