Do you actually know if your form is correct when training at home or are you just hoping for the best?
I’ve been working out at home for about 2 years. Stopped going to the gym mainly because of cost and time, and honestly I just feel more comfortable training alone.
Last week I randomly watched an old video I’d recorded of myself doing squats. I was genuinely surprised, my form was way off and I had no idea. Nobody had ever told me, and I’d never thought to check.
Made me realize: when you train alone, there’s no feedback loop. You just repeat the same movement, good or bad, over and over.
I started asking friends who also train at home and the pattern was pretty consistent, most people either don’t think about form at all, or they watch YouTube and hope for the best.
Genuinely curious: do you have a system for checking your form when you train alone? Do you film yourself, use a mirror, follow specific cues, hire an online coach?
Or do you just… not think about it much?
Thanks guys!
