Needle too dull after drawing - 25g
I’m new to trt. Urologist prescribed 140mg/week, injected once weekly. I was prescribed 18g to draw and 23g 1in. to inject. Used these needles once, and would like to reduce needle size to avoid pain and scarring.
I’ve had gynecomastia since puberty, so I’m wanting to increase injection frequency to avoid estrogen spikes.
I picked up BD 25g 5/8 insulin needles at the pharmacy. They didn’t have 27g available.
I drew the medicine from the vial, then attempted to inject into delt with the same needle. I could not get the needle to break the skin! Eventually after pushing very hard, the skin barely broke…I pulled the needle away and a pool of blood formed.
I’ve seen many people here draw and inject with the same 27g needles. So why would the 25g not work?
I’ve since ordered Easy Touch 27g 5/8in insulin needles…hopefully they work a bit better.
Anyone have some idea for what I may be doing wrong?
