Hi all! Curious on whether people think this card is a hold or a sell. Personally, there are other $1K cards that I’m a bigger fan of, but I do think it’s a sick card.
I’ve done around 100+ pulls (Pokemon and One Piece) for both PowerPacks & ArenaClub, so also wanted to share my general experiences with both.
- If there are specific chase cards you’re looking for, I definitely do NOT recommend pulling packs for grails. I pull packs primarily to get some cool cards I don’t usually aim for, and for entertainment.
- I generally don’t recommend selling back more expensive cards unless the offer is really good. The loop of pulling and selling back nonstop is imo, how one would lose the most money without getting any cards back for it.
- Make sure to do research on each card before accepting offers.
ArenaClub - I really enjoy the 10% Collect Safe Premium which guarantees the buyback, especially for more expensive packs. I need to calculate the exact numbers, but I’m generally up on ArenaClub packs which I think is largely due to the 10% Premium. I haven’t hit any grails from my packs (the Mewtwo is the biggest “chase” I’ve gotten), but I’m generally happy with the pulls I’ve gotten. I do think their offers are sometimes undervalued, and while I have had some decent trades with other users on the app, I’ve also gotten severe lowball offers. ArenaClub also occasionally does risk free packs, as well as discounted packs, and I’ve received one free pack (silver) before. I have not shopped back any cards yet from ArenaClub.
PowerPacks - I haven’t opened much since these got opened up to the general public, but I opened many many packs in Beta. I think overall, the chase cards listed on PowerPacks are better, but similar to ArenaClub, I haven’t hit any grails. I have hit some nice pulls (ES Ray VMAX was probably one of the nicest - out of the Diamond pack), but I’m definitely negative overall. I do highly enjoy that PowerPacks are integrated with PSA Vault, which makes shipping and selling any cards I don’t want significantly easier. I have shipped back multiple cards, and have had one slab that was slightly damaged (not due to shipping).
This is just a general summary of some of my thoughts, but feel free to ask any questions! Can also go into more details on losses / wins.
