Relatively new to car camping. We keep a tidy campsite and store all food items/trash locked in the truck at night. But our first trip we tried to keep our plastic bin of clean camp kitchen items near the site. The raccoons went after it, I assume from the scent on the pans (even though they were cleaned).
Because of the weight (I prefer cast iron pans) and depending on where our vehicle is parked, it can be a pain to haul back and forth at night and morning.
Does anyone keep clean camp kitchen items at the site and avoid raccon issues? If so, what storage bin do you use?
I'm thinking even if it's secure, if it's drawing the raccoons out because scent leaks through the bin that would still be annoying for noise/sleep. So I recognize that everything in the car is the best solution, but curious what others do.
Does anyone
